The Winter Dreamer
Measuring 23,5 cm x 10,5 cm (or 25 cm with open wings), this articulated paper bird is inspired by this small and original story of fantastic ornithology:
“The Winter Dreamer is a small forest bird known for its unique autumn behavior. During the fall, she meticulously gathers seeds from the forest floor, hiding them for the coming winter with the hope of finding them again when needed. Some she buries beneath the earth, while others are tucked away in quiet corners for safekeeping.
However, this little bird often forgets where she has hidden them, and many seeds are lost as she flits through the foliage. With each forgotten seed, a sigh of regret echoes in the forest. Yet, these lost seeds are believed to give birth to the magical winter dreams that grace our cold and lonely nights.”
Handcrafted with 300 gsm watercolor paper and tacks, this creature allows gentle movement and repositioning. While she’s designed to be flexible, I recommend keeping her framed most of the time to preserve her delicate nature.
*The frame is not for sale; it is for display purposes only.

Print Specifications
From the printer– “These Archival Pigment Prints (aka. Giclée Prints) are created on 320 gsm Sihl Cotton Rag fine art paper. The print process utilises a professional 12 colour Epson printer, fitted with genuine Pigment inks to create archival prints. That means the prints are colourfast for 200 years, when kept out of direct sunlight and behind glass. Certified with ISO 9706 (FograCert 28800) for ageing resistance.) These are museum quality reproductions.
The fine art paper we chose with María’s work in mind has a very fine texture, is silky soft and was selected for its consistency, its acid free & the natural high white colour works really well with María’s illustrations and pattern designs.”
