The Luminary Bird
Measuring 21 cm x 11 cm (or 30 cm with open wings), this articulated paper bird is inspired by this small and original story of fantastic ornithology:
“The Luminary Bird is a mysterious and elusive creature, rarely seen by those who do not truly need his light. His wings are unlike any other, unfolding like curtains to reveal a hidden misty world within. Despite the dark times and heavy shadows, this bird carries the brightest star within his chest, and as he sleeps, the inner light softly illuminates the path of those who are lost.”
Handcrafted with 300 gsm watercolor paper, golden ink and tacks, this creature allows gentle movement and repositioning. While he’s designed to be flexible, I recommend keeping him framed most of the time to preserve his delicate nature.

Print Specifications
From the printer– “These Archival Pigment Prints (aka. Giclée Prints) are created on 320 gsm Sihl Cotton Rag fine art paper. The print process utilises a professional 12 colour Epson printer, fitted with genuine Pigment inks to create archival prints. That means the prints are colourfast for 200 years, when kept out of direct sunlight and behind glass. Certified with ISO 9706 (FograCert 28800) for ageing resistance.) These are museum quality reproductions.
The fine art paper we chose with María’s work in mind has a very fine texture, is silky soft and was selected for its consistency, its acid free & the natural high white colour works really well with María’s illustrations and pattern designs.”
