The Hermit

This original window-diorama shows the interior of the hermit’s cabin, with papercut elements made from various types of paper and paints, mainly watercolor. The window border is a hand-stained wood frame and it has hooks on the back for easy display.

Measures 21 cm x 21 cm x 4,5 cm.

The artwork includes a handwritten poem that reads as follows:

“The old woman in a croocked house,
With towers of books and clouds of dust.
Her only friends, the rats that stare,
She tells them secrets no one else can bear.”
