Stella Maris

Measuring 10 x 8 x 1,5 cm, this delicate watercolor features a golden ink star and portrays Stella Maris, whose name translates as “Our Lady, Star of the Sea”.

Since the early medieval period, this historic title has been used for Mary, the mother of Jesus. She is believed to intercede as a guiding light, shining like a beacon in the winter night, saving lost sailors from wreckage, and a symbolizing hope in times of darkness.

Many coastal churches bear the name Stella Maris or Star of the Sea, reflecting her significance as the protector of seafarers.
