Per Aspera Ad Astra

Measuring 15 x 10,5 x 1 cm, this unfolding watercolor papercut artwork is inspired by the ancient Latin phrase Per Aspera Ad Astra, meaning “Through rough paths, to the stars”.

Inside, A woman-star opens to reveal a dreamy landscape, where a flower crowned with this inscription grows toward the sky and two snails move beneath clocks, knowing they too will rise to the stars in their own time. A delicate symbol of perseverance and hope.
