This delicate watercolor is a portrait in memory of Aimée, a heartbroken outsider writer who was a patient of Lacan.

Aimée wandered through a labyrinth of unfulfilled desire, her sense of self shattered by a longing that could never be satisfied. Lacan’s analysis revealed the depth of her inner torment, but despite his efforts, she never found peace.
