Adèle Hugo
This delicate watercolor is a portrait in memory of Adèle Hugo, the unfortunate and erotomaniac daughter of Victor Hugo
She became consumed by a delusion, convinced that Lieutenant Pinson loved her as much as she loved him. She wrote diaries and endless letters, each one a desperate cry for affection that went unanswered. Her obsession grew stronger, and with each unanswered letter, her mind slipped further into madness. Adèle started following him, traveling across the world in pursuit of a love that was never returned.
Measures 15,5 cm x 19,5 cm.
Framed in a hand-painted wooden frame.
